Balkon Design

Wood protection starts with the technical design
The cleverly devised technical design of LEEB balconies ensures that rainwater does not remain on and penetrate the wood, damaging your balcony. On LEEB balconies all components are back-ventilated in order to achieve the necessary balance of air and moisture. The sloping flower boxes ensure that water always runs away from this sensitive area and helps to guarantee the long service life of your LEEB balcony.

  1. Handrail with integrated water protection
The rounded handrail features a drip nose on its underside. Water can therefore run off without causing a problem. The construction below is protected.

  2. Sloping flower troughs and recesses
Thanks to the slope, rainwater and water used for watering plants runs off without soaking the balcony construction.

  3. Angled fixing battens
The additional elements guarantee that the no long-lasting moisture can accumulate at points which are difficult to access

  4. Back ventilation of attached balcony parts
Back ventilation of the attached wooden elements provides a continuous exchange of air and prevents damage being caused by long-lasting moisture.

High-grade softwoods from 1,000 metres above sea level
In addition to constructive wood protection the selection of the right timber is also important. That is why for the varied range of wooden balconies available from LEEB Balkone only high-grade softwoods are used which grow slowly in the surrounding region at more than 1,000 metres above sea level. Strict quality criteria are applied to the selection of the suitable timber. After a gentle, natural wood drying process lasting up to two years the moisture of the timber is further reduced in electronically controlled units.

The finished wooden balconies are then subjected to ongoing inspection by the Austrian Wood Research Institute so that constantly high quality is guaranteed. What’s more, the unique VACU-PROTECT® surface treatment process guarantees lasting eye-appeal, shape stability and a long service life.
